waxed

This is the best reward for washing and waxing your car: A nice gentle drizzle the next day.

the next step

The next step in my world wide adventure would be an own website.
Since I am not familiar with pro-applications like GoLive or Dreamweaver, I wanted to keep it a bit simple on the technical level and first just figure out what I can do with it. Well, despite all the horrible stories I turned to iWeb. It was announced by his Jobsness as THE app to build a website without any knowledge of site building. Yes, It is quite simple to start of with something, but it requires all the right circumstances. If anything doesn't quite meet the standard and needs some under-the-hood adjustment, you're stuck with a code, that requires a university level to decipher.
I decided to leave it for now and get a bit into one of these pro-apps for webdesign. It may take a bit longer, but it will be worth it (I was told).

Lights off

Here's one advantage of living on the 9th floor.

A peaceful sun setting and the blue of the sky is slowly darkening. I can never decide what time of the sunset is best. Sometimes it is right after sunset, when the sky is jawning in all shades of blue.

Some other times it seems the sun doesn't want to set. Casting light in every direction and drawing attention.

Just like me in a way. Some days I quietly go to bed and slowly fall asleep. Other days I just don't want to go to bed, and try to resist the inevitable.

working well

I have this picture as a wallpaper on my desktop at work now for a couple of weeks. Initially I chose it because the icons on my desktop are easily to be distinguished from the background.
It was taken out of the window of the car as a quick snapshot (you can see the map laying on Mirjams lap in the reflection of the window). It keeps amazing me. I can't really tell why. It turns out to be a treat to look at in between jobs.

weddings

Just two weeks after the most southern wedding I ever visited, last monday it was time for the most northern one.
Impressions of this day can be seen here www.houlik.blogspot.com
There's also a link in my sidebar.

Can I be Gump now?

Finally. For the first time in almost two weeks the sun is shining. And what am I doing? Working on the computer, 'creating' stuff. Why can't I just be Forrest, mawing lawn, not caring about flatscreens, iPods and mobile phones.
